Submission Guidelines

Outlined below are the guidelines that must be followed when submitting your proposal to APAIE 2026. Please follow these guidelines when submitting your proposal for APAIE 2026:

  • Every submission requires a coordinator who is the point of contact between the APAIE 2026 program manager and the members of the proposal. The coordinator does not need to be part of the proposal. They are responsible for collecting all the details for the submission proposal. The coordinator is required to set up an account in the submission portal in order to submit proposals and acts on behalf of all the members of the proposal.
  • All submissions must be in English. English is the official conference language, and all presentations must also be in English.
  • References are not required for submissions.
  • The Proposal Submission Portal includes the following sections and all parts are mandatory:
    • Title
Clearly convey the content of your proposal in a maximum of 10 words.
    • Abstract

Provide a clear and concise description of the content your session will cover. Max 200 words.

    • Members/presenters
Details of each member of your proposal and their role. Be clear as to whether or not you need to include a Chair (see Presentation Formats below). You must consult with each member prior to submission to ensure they consent to being included in your proposal, they plan to attend APAIE 2026 in person, and they provide you with their required details:
      • Role in session (presenter, chair, chair-presenter, etc)
      • Job/position title
      • Organisation

    • Stream
      Select most appropriate stream
  • Original proposal submissions are strongly recommended.
  • Must meet stated criteria.
  • Must be complete and received by the deadline of 24 June 2025

IMPORTANT NOTE:

It is important that all details in your proposal are confirmed at time of submission i.e presenter information, abstract, learning objectives etc as proposals will be assessed on the content provided at the time of submission. Should your proposal be accepted into the program; any changes made to the content of the proposal after the initial submission may require further re-assessment and it is not guaranteed that your proposal will still be included in the program.

Proposal Criteria

As more proposals are submitted than can be accommodated, the reviewers consider the following criteria when making their assessment:

  • Relevance to the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Overall quality of proposal.
  • Connection and relevance to the conference theme and nominated sub-theme (where applicable).
  • Clarity of objectives.
  • Sound academic content and basis.
  • Proposed content is not a promotion of your products, services nor organization. (You may use your organization as an example or case study to support the aim of your presentation but it must be balanced with other examples or case studies.)
  • Interest to an APAIE audience: How topical, innovative, and new is the perspective presented?

Incomplete submissions or proposals not written in English cannot be processed and will not be reviewed.

No revisions are possible after the submission deadline.

Conference Theme

Asia-Pacific Partnerships for the Global Good

In the face of numerous global challenges such as geopolitical tensions, climate change, digital transformation, and public health crises, the role of higher education institutions extends beyond teaching and research. Universities are uniquely positioned to build partnerships that address pressing global challenges through collaboration across borders, sectors, and disciplines.

The theme, Asia-Pacific Partnerships for the Global Good, invites proposals to showcase how the international higher education sector is forging impactful, inclusive, and sustainable partnerships to drive positive change, both within the Asia-Pacific region and between the Asia-Pacific region and the rest of the world.

Your proposal may focus on the partnership itself or the outcome of the partnership which may involve a variety of relationships, such as:

Strategic alliances between universities such as international collaborations that enhance global learning, research innovation, and knowledge exchange.

University–community partnerships that amplify local impact while generating global insights.

Cross-sector collaborations such as with governments, NGOs, or industry, that link academic expertise with real-world application.

North–South and South–South partnerships that prioritize equity, mutual benefit, and long-term capacity building.

Collaborative approaches to global challenges such as climate action, refugee education, digital equity, or global health.

Student and faculty-led initiatives that embody the spirit of global citizenship and social responsibility.

We welcome a diverse range of contributions under the following streams for a more inclusive, resilient, and dynamic global education landscape, where partnerships serve as the cornerstone for achieving the common good. This may include research findings, institutional case studies, policy perspectives, program evaluations, innovative models of collaboration, and best practice.

Streams

The APAIE 2026 program has four streams:

  1. Student experience and well-being
  2. Partnerships and mobility
  3. Programs
  4. Student recruitment

The following examples are to assist you with topic ideas and to work out which stream is most appropriate for your proposal.

  • Building an inclusive campus community
  • Innovations in student support
  • Supporting academic, language and technological development
  • Preparing students for global citizenship
  • Developing active and sustainable partnerships
  • Best practice and innovation in student exchange and mobility programs
  • Enabling access and participation in mobility programs
  • Building partnerships for the global good
  • TNE and borderless education
  • Developing globally competent graduates
  • Innovations in delivery for students, both on and off campus
  • Entrepreneurship, service, and work-integrated learning programs
