YONEYAMA Hiroshi was born in Tokyo in 1959. He graduated from the Faculty of Liberal Arts at the University of Tokyo and earned a Master’s degree in History from the University of Tsukuba. He also completed coursework in the Ph.D. program of the Department of History at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
His academic career includes appointments as Research Associate at the University of Tokyo, Associate Professor at Toyo Women’s College, and Professor at Ritsumeikan University’s Faculty of Letters. In 2020, he became Vice President of Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University and has served as its President since January 2024.
His research focuses on American history and the international migration of Japanese people.
