Kate Elwood has been a member of the Waseda community since 2002, becoming a full professor in the School of Commerce in 2009 and serving there as the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs 2012-2014 and the Associate Dean of Admissions 2014-2016. Kate assumed her position as Dean of International Affairs at Waseda in September 2022, after serving four years as the Dean of the Center for International Education.
