Weidong LIU

Vice President for International Affairs, Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Professor Liu is Vice President for International Affairs and a Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. He is also the Director of the Office of Planning and Development, as well as the Director of the Office of Informatization. Professor Liu’s research interests include statistics and machine learning. He is the recipient of the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the National Science Fund for Excellent Young Scholars, the New Century Excellent Talents Award, and the New World Mathematical Award. In addition, Professor Liu is an editorial board member of multiple academic periodicals in China, most notably Science China Mathematics.
