WooYoung Shin is a seasoned expert in international education with over two decades of experience spanning academic leadership, policy advisory, and global engagement. He currently serves as the Secretary General of the University Network for International Education (UNIE) and Director of the Hanyang Global Center in Malaysia, where he oversees strategic planning, international collaborations, and educational program development.
Mr. Shin also holds a visiting professorship at the University of Kuala Lumpur, contributing to research and strategic initiatives in global higher education. Since 2016, he has been the CEO of Global Education & Services, specializing in international student mobility and Korean education services.
Previously, Mr. Shin was Director of International Affairs at Hanyang University (Seoul and ERICA campuses), where he led faculty/student exchanges, international summer programs, and global university rankings initiatives. His leadership extended to national roles, including serving as Vice President and now Senior Advisor of the Korean Association of International Educators (KAIE). In these roles, he has fostered international networks and organized key professional development events for educators across Korea.
He also served on the Korean Ministry of Educations committee for overseas campus development and was a Fulbright Scholar in Washington D.C., where he conducted research on U.S. higher education systems.
Mr. Shin holds an MBA and a B.A. in English Language & Literature from Hanyang University.
