Most international travellers do not require a visa for short stays in Hong Kong. However, it is strongly recommended to check with your local embassy or the Hong Kong Immigration Department’s website to confirm your specific visa requirements. You can find more information about Visit Visa / Entry Permit Requirements on the website of the Immigration department of Hong Kong SAR. You may refer to Item 12 of Part II to find more information on the visa requirements for different countries / territories.

Important Notice for Indian Nationals Traveling to Hong Kong

If you require a visa in time for APAIE 2026, please be advised to start your visa application as soon as possible.

The Conference Organisers are not visa specialists and can only provide general information that is not specific to individual countries or individual travel needs. We can assist you with a visa letter once you have paid for your conference registration

Passport Validity

In general, all visitors to Hong Kong must have a passport that is valid at least one month after the period of their intended stay in Hong Kong.

Currency and Payments

The local currency is the Hong Kong Dollar (HKD). Credit cards are accepted, and ATMs are available throughout the city. One tip: Cash is still king, so ensure you have dollars in your wallet for taxi rides.
