Professor Dr Mohd Shafry Mohd Rahim is the 8th Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), appointed in January 2025. With over two decades of leadership experience, he has held key roles including Dean, Assistant Vice Chancellor, and founding Chair of the Institute for Life-Ready Graduates. He spearheaded the establishment of UTM’s Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, the first AI faculty in Malaysia. He is also the driving force behind the university’s strategic agenda, ASCEND 2030, positioning UTM for global impact and excellence.
