APAIE supports the 4th IAU Global Survey on Higher Education and Research for Sustainable Development (HESD)

APAIE is proud to be a partner on the 4th IAU Global Survey on HESD a key initiative which will examine institutional engagement with the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.

Higher Education as a Catalyst for Sustainable Transformation (4th IAU HESD Survey) will generate valuable insights into how higher education institutions are advancing sustainable development — including approaches across curriculum, institutional strategy and policies, and community engagement, as well as how institutions are engaging with frameworks such as the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs.

Key details at a glance

  • Who should respond: The survey seeks institutional responses (not individual perspectives). Only one coordinated response per institution will be counted, ideally submitted by a person in a leadership or coordination role.
  • Deadline: 30 April 2026
  • Time to complete: Approximately 30 minutes, once information is collected.
  • Pause/resume: You can pause and resume the survey (using the save/resume option).
  • Note: The questionnaire is available as a PDF preview to help you consult internally before submitting your institution’s response.

Before you submit

IAU strongly encourages institutions to treat the survey as a consultative process, including internal discussions and input from relevant stakeholders and, where possible, student representatives. We recommend reading the full instructions on how to prepare your response here.
