Chunming WANG

Chunming (CM) received both BSc and MSc in Biochemistry from Nanjing University (China), entering Professor Junfeng Zhang’s laboratory to study biomaterials, and obtained his PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) under Professor Dong-An Wang’s supervision. Then, he undertook his postdoctoral training at the University of Cambridge (UK), working between Professor Wilhelm Huck’s group in the Chemistry Department and Professor Fiona Watt’s lab at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Stem Cell Research. He later assisted Dr Victor Nurcombe and Dr Simon Cool at the Institute of Medical Biology (Singapore) on an industrial R&D project. In Oct 2012, CM started his independent research as an Assistant Professor at the University of Macau and was promoted to Associate Professor and full Professor in Aug 2018 and Aug 2022, respectively.
Since Sep 2024, CM has been the Director of the Global Affairs Office (GAO) at UM, committed to enhancing the internationalisation of the University by promoting global exchange and collaboration. Between Sep 2022 and Nov 2024, he served as the Director of the Research Services & Knowledge Transfer Office (RSKTO), UM, which supports the UM research community in the areas ranging from funding management to talent programmes to collaboration agreements to patent applications. Between Jan 2022 and Jun 2023, CM was the Deputy Director of Zhuhai UM Science & Technology Research Institute (ZUMRI), UM’s powerhouse for Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation in the Greater Bay Area.
