Prof Fei CHEN is Associate Head and Professor, Division of Environment & Sustainability at HKUST. He has 28 years of experience at the US National Center for Atmospheric Research developing weather models widely used by operational forecasting services. He co-chairs the UN World Meteorological Organization’s Urban-PREDICT project to advance multi-hazard prediction and early warning systems to help cities in the Greater Bay Area, Southeast Asia and globally better prepare for extreme weather and protect vulnerable communities.
