Professor Tang has served as Secretary General of the University Grants Committee since 2018. Previously Dean of Social Sciences and Professor of Political Science while concurrently serving as Senior Adviser on Greater China to the University President at Singapore Management University, he also held senior appointments at the University of Hong Kong and visiting positions at renowned universities in Chinese Mainland, Europe, the UK and the US.
