Abstract
Strategic partnerships between institutions, industry, and governments are evolving rapidly in response to technological change, workforce transformation, and shifting global priorities. These partnerships—whether focused on student and staff mobility, research collaboration, capacity building, joint programs, or workforce development—increasingly define how higher education creates value. This panel examines how institutions can develop and maintain effective partnership models across multiple sectors while preserving the human relationships and institutional trust that form the foundation of successful collaboration. Drawing on the IAU Internationalization Survey, the IIE International Partnership Landscape Survey, and the WISE/IIE Global Consortium on Higher Education and Workforce Development (spanning seven countries), panelists will explore emerging partnership models, industry collaboration strategies, and institutional innovations. Discussion will address how organizations can structure partnerships that operate face-to-face, virtually, or through hybrid approaches, and how the Asia-Pacific region is pioneering approaches that strengthen institutional relationships while advancing workforce development and economic value.
