Humanity in the AI age: engaging Asia-Pacific perspectives
There have been several revolutions with major impact on how humans live, from the agricultural revolution to the industrial revolution to the digital revolution and now the current AI revolution.
As AI-generated content starts to look the same, the differentiating factor is the human touch. Whilst AI will continue to improve and enhance various aspects of our daily lives, the human element remains central to success.
In a world increasingly shaped by algorithms, the future of global education must remain anchored in humanity. International education serves as a covenant of care, where technological intelligence is guided by empathy, ethics, and human dignity, and where wellbeing becomes a central measure of progress.
For the Asia-Pacific, this vision is transformative. As the world’s most culturally diverse and dynamically evolving region, it holds immense promise. Through AI and digital connectivity, internationalisation moves beyond elite mobility toward mass inclusivity, expanding access not only to knowledge, but to belonging, safety, and holistic wellbeing.
APAIE 2027 is not looking for an entire program with every session focused on AI! Rather it is about the challenges, successes, best practices, impacts, and more, of the international higher education sector, with a particular focus on how Asia-Pacific higher education navigates and adapts within the current AI revolution, ensuring humanity remains at the core.
We welcome a diverse range of contributions under the following streams for a more inclusive, resilient, and dynamic global education landscape, where partnerships serve as the cornerstone for achieving the common good. This may include research findings, institutional case studies, policy perspectives, program evaluations, innovative models of collaboration, and best practice.
