Academic Research Paper Submissions

Please note: This page is for Academic Research Paper Submissions for Emerging Scholars. For all other proposal types please submit through the Proposal Submissions page.

In 2027, APAIE will again be inviting researchers to submit research papers for consideration.

It is part of APAIE’s goals to develop:

  • a research stream for presentations at APAIE conferences,
  • a community of International Education Researchers in the Asia-Pacific region, who are interested in conducting research in the region,
  •  a group of experts to assist with the review papers for APAIE conference presentations.

Accepted papers will be published as part of the APAIE Research Papers Conference Proceedings (See papers from previous years). We encourage authors to review previous years’ papers as a guide when preparing their submission.

In addition, papers will be forwarded to leading partner journals such as the Journal of Studies in International Education, Transitions: Journal of Transient Migrants, and Journal of Global Higher Education for further publication (with additional content).

Emerging Scholars i.e. Doctoral Candidates and Early Career Researchers (ECR) who have completed their Doctoral Degree in the last 5 years are encouraged to submit their work.

All details you need to submit your research abstract are outlined on this page. Ensure you have your chance to present your work at APAIE 2027 and submit before the deadline: Wednesday 3 June 2026, 23:59 hours AEST.
