Abstract As artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and changing workforce demands reshape higher education, transnational partnerships must evolve beyond traditional student mobility, bilateral agreements and isolated academic initiatives. Universities are increasingly challenged to develop collaborative models that are innovative, sustainable, human-centred and responsive to the needs of learners, industries and society. This session explores how universities and industry-linked education providers can transform mobility-based engagement into broader transnational partnerships through an emerging Australia–Malaysia–Middle East collaboration model. Drawing on the complementary strengths of Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA), CQUniversity Australia (CQU) and Aviation Australia, the discussion highlights opportunities to connect advanced TVET, applied education, research cooperation, aviation training, professional certification and future talent development. The session further examines how artificial intelligence, simulation, digital learning and flexible academic delivery can enhance cross-border education, strengthen workforce readiness and create new pathways for institutional and industry collaboration. While technology enables partnerships to expand across geographical boundaries, trust, intercultural understanding and shared human values remain essential to their long-term success. Through institutional perspectives and practical reflections, the session offers insights into building meaningful, scalable and industry-relevant transnational partnerships that prepare graduates to be globally connected, adaptable and future-ready.
