Abstract
As higher education enters the AI age, institutions are rethinking how international partnerships can prepare graduates with the technical competence, adaptability, global awareness and human-centred values required in a rapidly changing world. This is especially important for Advanced TVET and applied higher education, where learning must remain closely connected to industry needs, emerging technologies, practical skills and future talent development.
This pre-conference workshop explores how transnational education can strengthen the internationalisation of Advanced TVET through collaborative academic pathways, applied curriculum design, student and staff mobility, work-based learning, joint teaching, industry-linked education and cross-border programme development. It positions TNE not merely as a mode of programme delivery, but as a strategic platform for building globally connected, skills-based and future-ready learning ecosystems.
Bringing together perspectives from Malaysia, the United Kingdom and Germany, the workshop will examine diverse institutional approaches to Advanced TVET, transnational engineering education, joint institute delivery, practice-oriented education, applied research and industry collaboration.
Through short framing inputs, guided discussions, small-group exchange, case-based reflection and programme design activities, participants will explore partnership development, curriculum alignment, quality assurance, student experience, mobility pathways and sustainability. Participants will leave with practical ideas and a working framework for developing meaningful, human-centred and future-ready TNE initiatives.
