Summary
Discover the “Garden of Knowledge and Virtue” – IIUM Campus Tour
Make your APAIE 2027 journey even more meaningful with a postconference visit to the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) — a campus where knowledge, faith, culture, nature, and heritage come beautifully together.
IIUM’s Gombak campus is more than just a university. It is a destination with soul. Surrounded by greenery and framed by beautiful Islamic-inspired architecture, the campus offers delegates a refreshing escape from the city and a rare opportunity to experience Malaysia through the lens of knowledge, civilisation, and culture.
The tour will take delegates on a journey through IIUM’s Islamic heritage, including a special visit to ISTAC-IIUM, a place where Islamic architecture, scholarship, manuscripts, and intellectual tradition create an atmosphere of timeless elegance. With its graceful design and reflective ambience, ISTAC offers an experience that feels like stepping into the spirit of Alhambra — serene, inspiring, and rich with the beauty of Islamic civilisation.
Delegates will also have the opportunity to discover historical Islamic manuscripts and appreciate the depth of Muslim intellectual heritage preserved within IIUM’s academic environment. But the experience does not stop there. This campus tour also brings delegates closer to Malaysia’s living cultural heritage through a special engagement with the local Indigenous community. Participants will be introduced to the creativity, skills, and spirit of the Orang Asli community through interactive cultural activities such as traditional anyaman weaving and a sumpit-style blowpipe demonstration.
It is not just a tour to see buildings. It is a tour to feel the culture, touch the heritage, meet the people, and experience the real heart of IIUM. Come and join us at the Garden of Knowledge and Virtue — where every corner tells a story, every experience carries meaning, and every delegate leaves with a memory that is truly different.
